WALKERS living around Stockleigh Pomeroy paid £5 each to walk over farmland for five miles to raise money for the local church, and for Hospiscare, on Saturday, October 18.
Rev Janet May saw the walkers off from Stockleigh Pomeroy Village Hall.
At the end of the walk, delicious refreshments, including homemade cakes, were served in the parish hall by supporters. There was also a chutney and jam stall and a raffle.
First home were Ellie Smith and John Clark with their dogs, left, closely followed by a local mum, daughter and friend.
Nearly £700 was raised, shared between Hospiscare and Stockleigh Pomeroy Church.
Many thanks to everyone who came and participated in this event.
Mary Nunn
