CREDITON Town Band is gearing up for Community Carols in the Square, which will take place in Crediton Town Square on Thursday, December 21, beginning at 7pm.

The event was a huge success last year and the Band is hoping to build building on that success.

There will again be printed carol sheets to share on the evening and people are advised to take along their own torch along to read the sheets.

Local choirs have also been invited to attend and it is hoped that there will be some four-part harmony singing.

Dedicated standing areas will be marked for members of the public and for each choir, as well as the Town Band.

A sound system will be in use throughout the evening to ensure that everyone can hear.

The Crediton Town Band Community Carols event is a chance for the community to join together to celebrate Christmas and promote a festive spirit within the community.

This year the Band has chosen to support Age Concern Crediton & District, an independent local charity which aims to support and improve the quality of life for people in the 50 plus age group living in Crediton and the surrounding villages - to enable independent living. The charity also offers friendly Day Care support and activities at the Deep Lane centre in Crediton.

Everyone is welcome to attend Community Carols in the Square, join in with the carol singing and soak up the festive atmosphere.
