QUEEN Elizabeth’s School caretaker and the alarm company have been praised for their swift response which, it is believed, prevented a burglar or burglars from stealing a range of items from the Crediton school.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the burglary was reported at Queen Elizabeth Community College in the Barnfield area of Crediton.Entry was gained by breaking a window in the early hour of Thursday, November 2 and property was stolen.

QE principal Rupert Poole told the “Courier”: “Two windows were broken to gain access and very little was taken.

“We suspect the alarm scared them off instantly.

“The alarm company and caretaker were on site quickly in the middle of the night, so credit to them for their swift response.”Anyone with information which could help the police with their inquiries is asked to email: [email protected] or telephone the police 101 number.
