MID Devon District Council is planning resurfacing works to a number of its business and residential car parks in Tiverton and Crediton.

It says the work will be carried out in stages and, weather permitting, should not take long to complete.

As part of the resurfacing work the access road to Tiverton Market pay and display car park will be closed for one night. The closure is planned to take place on Monday, November 21, while the contractors repair and resurface this patch of road.

Car parks scheduled for resurfacing at Crediton are Tolleys (December 3) and East Street (preparation on December 1 and resurfacing/lining on December 2).

In Tiverton the works will take place at Barrington Street, Market Place and Market Terrace from November 21 to 25.

The council says written notice will be sent to permit holders offering alternative parking arrangements.

In addition, it adds, signage will be erected in each car park giving fair warning of pending resurfacing works.

Permit holders are asked for their co-operation during the works by not parking in their designated bays; this will allow the contractor to complete the work quickly and with as little disruption as possible.

Mid Devon District Council is working in partnership with the contractor to minimise any disruption and ensure the work is completed as soon as possible.

The council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents and permit holders for their co-operation.

If permit holders have any concerns regarding the resurfacing works they can contact the district council on 01884 255255 for further guidance and support.
