A LOCAL man would like some help in identifying those pictured with his late wife, when she was one of the attendants to the Coronation Queen at an event in Crediton on February 2, in 1953.

Gerald Leach explained that the girl on the right, front, in the photograph is Ena Mears, who at the time lived in Crediton with her Uncle and Auntie.

He said: “She was aged 14 years and 11 months on the day. In 1954 she moved to Moorland View, Lapford, to live with the rest of the Mears family, then worked at Ambrosia until 1960.”

She married Gerald of Nymet Bridge on August 15, 1959 in Lapford Church and moved to Nymet Bridge until 1963.

The picture was believed to have been taken in front of the bus shelter on Union Road.

Gerald would like to name all the other people in the photo.
