CHAIRMAN of Cheriton Fitzpaine Twinning Association, Brenda Fowler, welcomed a good number of members to the annual meeting held in the Parish Hall and said that they had had a very busy year.

She thanked everyone for supporting or hosting all the events which included a jumble sale, a harvest supper and a French breakfast held in the hall which was open to all. This was a new venture which proved very successful.

There was a mulled wine evening prior to Christmas which was another successful event.

Brenda added that everyone enjoyed their visit to Bonnebosq and we now look forward to our visit next May.

Two families have joined, one family also went to Bonnebosq.

John Wilson gave the treasurers report and took members’ subscriptions which remain at £5 each.

Then there was the election of Officers. Brenda Fowler was re-elected as Chairman, and Sarah Fowler as Secretary, who said this would definitely be her last year in this job, as they may be moving.

John Willson remains as Treasurer. Geoff Yeandle resigned as Vice Chairman and also from the Committee.

All other members were prepared to stand again and are Wendy Wilson, Kate Jarvis, Jonathon Berg, Margaret Tucker, Derek Shapland and new member Sue Newberry.

Dates were arranged for future events including a Bistro on Saturday, August 3, and a French Breakfast on November 16.

Members may also host other events during the year.

After the business everyone enjoyed a buffet supper, cheeses, biscuits, grapes, and pickles etc with, of course, French wine.

A great meeting and supper. New members always welcome.
