CREDITON and District U3A (University of the Third Age) returned to well attended monthly meetings in January with 100 people going along to hear Paul Bartlett speaking on Trees and Vodka in Georgia (Near Russia).
In February the group heard from the well-regarded Richard Scrivener on the Geological Survey of Crediton.
On March 15, Dr Todd Gray, Historian and author, will be talking about “Name Calling in Elizabethan Devon”.
Crediton and District U3A now has 22 groups ranging from Astrology to Contemporary Poetry and Local History.
Four new groups started in January, Mindfulness practice, meeting once a week on a Monday 1pm to 2.30pm.
Poetry and literature with Nicola King is meeting in the Crediton Community Bookshop on Wednesday afternoons.
A local history group is meeting regularly and, Crediton and District U3A now have an organiser for Wildlife walks - these walks will be gentle strolls through local woodland initially.
Non-members are welcome to the busy monthly meetings in the Boniface Centre on the Third Wednesday of the month - sign in from 9.30am onwards for 10am start. Cost is £1.50 and includes tea/coffee.
Keith Parsons has organised the group’s first coach trip, which is to Wells Cathedral in May - there are only nine places left.
