ZIYA Zorlu of Floors & More has been a flooring technician for eight years, mainly working on projects at both Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

Specialising in floor preparation which involves the use of large grinders and specialist machinery, Ziya also undertook the restoration work of his previous home, which was completed last year.

Ziya, his wife Hannah and their two young children recently relocated to Crediton, and he now feels ready to launch his own company, Floors & More.

Whilst flooring is his speciality, he can quite literally turn his hand to anything.

This can be demonstrated by the “jungle” garden at his previous home, which was transformed to house a log cabin complete with decking and relaxing and garden areas.

Having been brought up in Turkey, Ziya was never happier than when he had a tool in one hand and a broken object in the other. This is very much true to this day, and there is no job too small (or too big) for him to consider.

"I really enjoy the challenge of making a vision come true," Ziya explained. "I learnt a valuable lesson when living near London and entrusted a company to lay my driveway as I had other commitments.

“Half a year later, it had sunk and I realised it was a very poor, over-priced job.

“The company had ceased trading, so I dug it up, started again with the correct materials and ended up with a driveway I was proud of."
