ON Good Friday, Bow Bears Preschool held its first Virtual Duck Race to raise funds for the preschool.

There were five races, with 20 ducks per race, sold at £2 per duck.

Carrie-Ann Quinton, Fundraising Trustee for Bow Bears said: “We are extremely lucky to have a very supportive community.

Not only did we sell all 100 ducks but five local companies sponsored the event meaning we raised a fabulous £334 for the preschool.

“We would like to thank Ashgrove Kitchens, Cloverdown Property Maintenance, Luke Dennis of LSJD, Ross Dennis of RD Dennis and Carter Geering Estate Agents for their generous sponsorship.

“We are very grateful.

“We are now concentrating on our next event which is a Spring Fair at Bow Village Hall on May 7 from 12 noon.

“There will be a raffle, barbecue, refreshments including Krispy Kreme donuts, fun and games plus a table top sale.

“So far we have Sophiemay.wonkysilver, Earrings by Gill, Flamingo Paperie, the Plant Shed, Tropic Skincare, Wallens Ironworks, Slimming World and Crafts and Knitwear.

“Plus the Village Hall Committee and Bow Scouts will be there with extra games to keep the children busy!

“We still have some tables available for £5 and a raffle prize.”
