DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received several 999 calls reporting a large fire just off the A361 near Ash Mill, Knowstone, from 12.42pm on Sunday, January 11.
Three fire engines were initially sent and on arrival, confirmed this was a static home well alight and a further fire engine and water bowser was also sent.
Crews attended from South Molton, Tiverton, Witheridge and Barnstaple.
The firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to put out the fire and a thermal image camera and gas monitor to check that the fire was out.
Crews rescued two dogs from the property.
The fire service said the cause of the fire was accidental and that the property was severely damaged by the fire.
