She spent many hours creating the wonderful Christmas scene of the sleigh and reindeer in a snowy landscape.

It was the public who voted for the best shop or business window displays, “Crediton Courier” readers having returned the voting forms.

The Bedford and Co window received the most votes.

The Rosebowl for the Best Dressed Window was presented by Alan Quick, Editorial Manager at the “Crediton Courier”.

Clair was presented with a bumper hamper by competition sponsor, Morrisons of Crediton, the hamper presented by Paul Callow, Crediton store manager and Crediton store Community Champion, Hazel Evely.

Clair said she was “thrilled” that Bedford and Co had been voted the winner.

Second prize went to the window display at A E Lee (Outfitters), which was received by proprietor, Simon Lee.

In third place was the display in the window of the Hospiscare charity shop, which included a snow scene with Snowmen, Christmas trees, a Father Christmas and much more.

Prizes for the second and third best windows were sponsored by the “Crediton Courier”.

Highly Commended were The Bookery and Adams Home Hardware.

Certificates were presented to all of the businesses with the best windows and prizes.

“The windows really help to make the town look more festive each year and I cannot thank enough those who make the effort each year to create some fantastic displays.”
