THREE Crediton barmaids will be leaping for charity later this month.

Kathryn Howard (24), Katie Miller (23) and Rachael Parr (24), who all live in Crediton, work as part-time barmaids at two Crediton pubs, either the Corner House or The Mitre.

On Sunday, May 24, the trio will each be taking part in a tandem skydive in aid of the RNLI, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Rachael is also a trainee legal executive, Katie is a full-time mum and Kathryn is a make-up artist.

Rachael explained that Mrs Jillian Wright, the landlady of the Mitre, told them about a company offering tandem skydives to raise money for charity.

Rachael added: "We all signed up straightaway and we chose the RNLI as our charity as it is a fairly local organisation which receives no government support, unlike other rescue services.

"Also when she was younger, Katie had a cousin who died in an accident at sea that was attended by a lifeboat.

"We will be doing the jump at Dunkeswell airfield and if people would like to support us and RNLI could they please drop any donations into either the Corner House or the Mitre along with a note of their full postal address so that we can gift aid the money."

The trio said that they have received great support from the pubs and the customers and also generous sponsorship, to date, from Ian Stoyle of The Fire Station Steak House.
