TALENTED author and illustrator Sam Usher has created a wonderful painted window display at The Bookery in Crediton to promote his new picture book “FOUND”.

Sam is the creator of the bestselling seasonal series about a boy and his grandfather. “FOUND” is his latest book.

Sam graduated from the University of West England and his debut picture book “Can You See Sassoon?” was shortlisted for the Waterstones Prize and the Red House Children’s Book Award.

He is particularly admired for his technical drawing skill and prowess with watercolour.

He has illustrated books by some of the most well-known authors in the country.

Also a talented pianist, when he’s not holding a pen and wobbling at paper you’ll find him perfecting a fiendishly difficult piece of Chopin.

Sam is currently going into various bookshops to do window paintings plus signings.

“FOUND” is a gorgeous picture book, a companion book to “Free”, “Wild” and “Lost”. Another charming adventure for Boy and Grandad who have an exciting day ahead - they’re off to the seaside. There’s just so much to do, from exploring rock pools to building sandcastles and eating delicious ice cream. But their adventure really begins when they set off for a swim and find a baby seal… a stunning seafaring story written and illustrated in Sam’s distinctive style.

If you haven’t discovered this series yet you are in for a treat.

Go and visit The Bookery if you can, this window is quite something to behold and it has signed copies in store.
