THE first performance by The Turning Tides Project, Crediton arts session, was performed before an invited audience at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, Crediton.

The audience were treated to a programmeof originalsongsand dances created by the group.

As well as family and friends, guests included Councillor Nick Way (Crediton Rural, Devon County Council).

Recordings of two original songs from the production Today is Calm and Funky Circus Salsa can be heard on the website: www. theturningtidesproject.org.uk .

The Turning Tides Project is a Community Interest Company that aims to make equal access to music, the arts and a quality of life a reality for people with "learning disability" or "autism" labels in Mid Devon.

The project facilitates music and arts sessions in Mid Devon, has a touring company, creates training materials and runs a Gig Buddies scheme.

The Crediton Arts (music, art, drama, dance and story-tell- ing) session runs from 1pm to 4pm in the Dance Studio at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.

The Turning Tides Project would like to thank Cllr Nick Way, Shane Long (Mid Devon Leisure) and Jason Wood (Active Devon) for their support in getting this

session started. A number of new projects,

including forming a band and making a film, are planned for early in the New Year.
