CREDITON Courier Editorial Manager Alan Quick visited two classrooms at Haywards Primary School last week to tell the children how to be a tip-top reporter and photographer.

The children had been studying the floods at Fordton, Crediton, in September and October 1960 and produced their own newspaper front pages about the incident.

He told them about his work, gave them advice on how to write a story and take a photograph and gave the classes work sheets, after which they produced their own front pages about his visit.

Mr Quick gave each pupil a copy of the Courier and also judged their newspaper front pages and gave out badges as prizes.

He congratulated them on their work and for being so courteous and hard working.
