OUR Crediton Walk and Talk walk on Friday, July 7 started at Crediton Railway Station and headed to the golf course where several members kindly held up play to allow us to pass.

Then after a short section of road we branched off towards Hookway.

Eventually the lane petered out and a gateway led into fields with a steady climb up to Rudge Farm from where it became reasonably flat and time for a break to look across to Raddon and beyond, with Posbury and a glimpse of Dartmoor in the other direction.

This path soon led to the Crediton/Whitestone road and down to Fordton Cross, with the walk ending back at the Station and a visit to a local hostelry for coffee.

Crediton Walk and Talk group meet fortnightly at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre at 9.45am.

Walks start from the Leisure Centre or nearby villages and take around 90 minutes, covering about three miles but this does not include travelling times.

Anyone is welcome and walks are free to join. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, as long as they are kept on a short lead.

The next walk is on Friday, July 21.
