MORCHARD Bishop Playing Fields Association promise a great day out for all the family, with  something to interest all ages at its annual Vintage Rally and Family Fun Day.

It will be held at Morchard Bishop Playing Fields on Saturday August 5, with gates open at 12 noon.

The entrance charge will be just 50p per chlld and £2 per adult.

There will be plenty to keep the children happy with face painting, a petting zoo and races run by the PTA.

The Vintage Rally will include dozens of lovingly restored cars, tractors, motor bikes and stationary engines.

For those who want to watch something being created, Simon Hall will be taking along his mobile forge and demonstrating his work throughout the afternoon.

Further crafts can be seen in the craft tent along with trade and charity stalls.  Music will be played by Hatherleigh Silver Band and Morchard’s Banjo Brian.

There will be food to cater for all tastes – salads, barbecue fare, ice creams and cream teas.

Bargain hunters would do well to visit the car boot sale and other attractions include a balloon race, exhibition by Exeter Model Boat Club, and a Lego competition.

As always the Grand Prize Draw has many valuable prizes. Emergencies permitting, there will be visits from the Fire Service and the Devon and Cornwall Police.

Mention must also be made of Ted Moule and his ferret racing, also the book and bottle stalls.

All the village organisations taking part donate their takings to the Playing Fields which indirectly benefits everyone in Morchard Bishop.
