AT Poughill, near Cheriton Fitzpaine, a VE Day 80 Bring and Share Street Party was held in the Village Hall.

There was a wide variety of food and the hall was beautifully decorated.
A bar was run and everyone enjoyed getting together.

More than 60 people attended.
An impressive historic display was also staged in the parish church and many people went along to read about the three villagers who were did not return from the Second World War.

Historic items, including newspapers, an air raid siren, miner’s helmet, old maps, photographs and much more were displayed creating a great deal of interest.
The raffle at the free Street Party was in aid of the Parish Church.
