The Cheer Up January party last week was a great success – people turned out in their droves to support Zeal Monachorum Village Hall’s first big event of the year.

“There was a real buzz to it, people chatting, laughing and joining in with games like ‘who am I’ and match the monarchs to their dates puzzle.

“That certainly sorted out those people who learnt their kings and queens at school from those who had more modern lessons.

“The bring and share supper worked perfectly with a splendid range of food and hardly any left-overs at the end of the evening.

“Seeing the hall full of people enjoying themselves amply rewarded the hard work of the committee.” said Erica Eden, chair of the hall committee.
