A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a crash near Tiverton on Monday, June 2.

Police were called to the scene on an unclassified road outside St Thomas Church, Chevithorne at around 1.30pm.

A black Volkswagen Golf and a red Peugeot Partner van were involved in the collision.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a local man in his 40s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by helicopter.

“Officers would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene,” a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said.
