CREDITON resident Margaret Tucker recently completed the filling of 90 Christmas Shoe Boxes for children in Moldova.
Last weekend Biffo Holland and his wife Jan, kindly took the 90 boxes of items to the Christian Response to Eastern Europe collection depot at Exmouth.
The boxes begin their journey by road to Moldova in early December.
Margaret thanks everyone who has been kind enough to donate wool, the ladies who have knitted dolls, hats, shoeboxes, items, etc and everyone who has supported this.
MORE BOXES NEEDED
She says there will be another 60 plus boxes to go in the near future and, at the moment, says she requires more shoeboxes!
The charity is run by Hugh Scudder, of Starcross, and his team. It was started 30 years ago.
The Christmas boxes are usually the only Christmas gifts the children will receive, as Moldova is the poorest country in Eastern Europe.
Sadly there is little work, and this year the harvests have failed due to the unusual weather conditions.
