PRIMARY school pupils in the area spent some time recently using their artistic skills to make “peace posters” for Crediton and District Lions Club’s heat in the annual Lions Clubs International Peace Poster competition.

There were 90 entries from Copplestone, Hayward’s and Landscore Primary Schools.

This year the theme was “Harmony in Humanity”.

Eric Parkes, who has co-ordinated the competition locally for more than 20 years, said that the judge, local artist Mike Palmer, complimented all who entered on the high standard of their work.

Every child who created a poster received a certificate and Lions wristband.

Winners were: Landscore: Jessica, Copplestone: Theo and Hayward’s: Elliott.

Winners and runners-up received prizes of art equipment. Winning entries going through to the regional final.
