MID Devon District Council dog wardens held a free microchipping event for dogs recently at Groomed to Pawfection based in Crediton High Street.
The business had kindly allowed the council to use their shop to host the event which saw a busy afternoon resulting in the successful microchipping of 45 dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes from Crediton and the surrounding villages.
Microchips were provided by The Dog’s Trust charity as part of their “Dogs in the Community” campaign, a project aimed at supporting councils in educating the community about dog welfare and the implications of irresponsible dog ownership.
From April 6, 2016 it will be a legal requirement for all dogs in England to be microchipped.
