CHERITON Fitzpaine Garden Club’s Open Gardens was blessed with cool but dry weather, and more than 120 people visited the 13 gardens, which ranged from tiny courtyards to the rambling expanse of the Rectory.
The newly renovated Parish Hall was full of people enjoying cream teas and watching a continuous loop of photographs supplied by members of the Garden Club and organised by Ellie Babbedge.
There was also a photo-quiz, which the children especially enjoyed answering on their travels.
There are too many people to thank individually, but the Garden Club is grateful to its Chairman, Paula Mossman, whose idea it was, and who was the driving force behind it, and secretary Maggie Sluman for publicity and administration.
Also thanks go to those who helped with the catering, and the residents who worked so hard to make their gardens really attractive.
Our summer outing will be to The High Garden in Kenton in July, and our next big event is the Summer Show on Saturday, August 5, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in and around the Parish Hall.
