THE 111th Okehampton and District Agricultural Show was blessed with sunny weather and record crowds and has been branded as “the best yet”.

Held in the foothills of Dartmoor on the Stoney Park showground, all those attending enjoyed a fantastic day out where they could watch livestock competitions, a full main ring programme of entertainment, or just visit the wealth of trade and exhibitor stands.

There was sheep shearing, crafts and produce, a hound parade, vintage vehicles, carriage driving, terrier racing, dog show, morris dancing, heavy horses and side saddle classes.

Show jumping did not take place because of the hard ground due to recent hot weather.

The food and drink hall marquee was busy, as were other marquees for the honey show, YFC classes, open classes, crafts and entertainment.

Livestock took centre stage and local exhibitors fared particularly well.
