MORE than 100 children from Crediton area primary schools created Peace Posters for Crediton and District Lions Club’s heat in the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster competition this summer.

The competition encourages school children to creatively express what peace means to them.

The 2023 contest theme was "Dare to Dream", which allowed students to share their unique image of peace with others in the hope of greater tolerance and understanding .

In the Crediton area there were 132 entries from the three primary schools at Copplestone, Hayward's and Landscore. The organiser of the competition on behalf of the Lions Club of Crediton and District, Eric Parkes stated that he was amazed at the thought and artistic content that went into producing the Peace Posters.

He congratulated all the children involved on the standard produced and for all their hard work with the project.

He also thanked each of the three primary schools for allowing the students to take part in the competition.

The winners were: Landscore - Ramona Farrow, Copplestone - Anna Stanbury and Hayward’s - Amelia Murphy.
