SHOPPERS at the Crediton Tesco store at Wellparks on Saturday, July 20 were probably cheered to see a big group of people dancing, having fun and raising funds for three charities.
This was Tesco Dance Beats, part of a national fundraising campaign to support the life-changing work of its three national health charity partners - Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.
There were three days of epic dance marathon fundraising events in thousands of Tesco stores across the country last weekend (July 18, 19 and 20).
It culminated in a 30-hour world record attempt where more than 6,000 Tesco colleagues and members of the public came together to break the Guinness World Records title for the world’s longest dance marathon relay at Wembley Stadium.
At Crediton, Ian Cann of D and I Disco was playing music all afternoon for the dancing and Natalie Bragg got everything going with an hour of Zumba in the morning in the sun outside the store.
The day was organised by Emily Conner, Services Manager at the store, with Ree Birch who works with Tesco mobile.
There was face painting by Rachel Morgan and a lot more going on through the afternoon.
