WELLINGTON Ladies will be playing in Division Two South of the Somerset County Women’s Football League following relegation from the top section at the end of the season.

Wellington’s pre-season began by playing at the Penmill Tournament last month (pictured). They were also due to play Wessex, who play in the Devon League, yesterday. They play at home to Porlock on Friday, August 24.

Wellington’s player-manager Nyima Touray said: "We've been focused on trying to rebuild the team and need players for the upcoming season. I'm hoping that the women's World Cup is inspiring some to take up or return to the sport.

"We are currently training on Thursdays at 6 30 on the side pitch by the cricket ground. We would love for more to come and join.

"Our season in the league starts on the 3rd of September. "
