TIVERTON Swords Fencing Club has been fundraising for a SwordSeat so more people can enjoy the sport.
Head Coach Jason Ball explained: "SwordSeats are a clever UK flatpack invention, they offer a way for people with mobility issues or injuries to train with everyone else. Seated fencing is great fun and challenges you to be creative and tactical."
Tiverton Swords, which trains on Wednesday evenings at Castle Primary School in Tiverton, has ordered the new kit and will soon be able to offer seated fencing to a wider audience.
Anyone keen to try seated fencing should email [email protected] for details of the club's first taster session.
Tiverton Swords is a volunteer-run, community club that offers training for ages eight and up. The club offers training in all three weapon disciplines of Olympic Fencing - Épée, Foil and Sabre.
