CREDITON and District Skittles League held its Presentation Evening at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum on Saturday, May 12, which began with the finals of the ladies and men’s individual competitions.

In the First Round of the Ladies finals results were: 58 – Keira Willing (Spudlers), 50 – Sam Loveridge (Spudlers); 48 - Chloe Salter (Kirton Krackers), 42 - Pam Powlesland (ShowStoppers); 45 - Gill Lyon (Outlaws), 54 - Emma Powlesland (Happy Stars); 46 - Amy Salter (Kirton Krackers), 43 - Brenda Frame (Kings Jesters).

Semi-final: 54 - Keira Willing, 42 - Chloe Salter; 44 - Emma Powlesland, 57 - Amy Salter.

Final: 54 - Keira Willing, 53 - Amy Salter.

In the Men’s finals results of the First Round were: 46 - Graham Baker (Runaways), 68 - Graham Rounsley (Outlaws); 47 - Graham Knowles (United Crediton), 53 - Colin Ladd (Runaways); 60 - Alan Webber (Happy Stars), David Searle (Runaways); Dave Cann (Happy Stars) Bye.

Semi-final: 47 - Dave Cann 64, Graham Rounsley; 52 - Colin Ladd, 44 - Alan Webber.

Final: 52 - Graham Rounsley, 48 - Colin Ladd.

The above players all showed why they were in the final of the last eight ladies and men’s. In most of the games the players matched each other all the way through scorin 8’s and 9’s each with the one who picked up the spare being the winner.

The presentation for the end of season trophies was very well done by Bill Matten who has been involved with Sandford Cricket Club since 1949 when it first started, at the age of 22 and become Fixture Secretary, a post he still holds as he approaches his 91st birthday.
