CREDITON Tennis Club winter league season drew to a close in March, marked by two fiercely contested matches.
A hard-fought 6-3 home victory over Sidmouth was followed by a narrow 6-3 defeat away to a high-quality Exwick team in the season finale.
These results, coupled with a successful blend of youth and experience thanks to this season's new recruits, helped secure a 5th place finish in a highly competitive league, exceeding our initial objective of avoiding relegation.
Notably, Crediton narrowly missed fourth place, and were within striking distance of third. Kingsteignton dominated the league, suffering only a single defeat in 14 matches.
As we look ahead to the summer league, Crediton will field two teams. The A team will compete in Division 5, with their opening match at home to Sidmouth on April 14 at 6.30pm. The B team will start in Division 7, away to Exeter Golf and Country Club at the same time.
Club practice sessions continue at Lord's Meadow on Wednesdays, 6-8pm, open to all members.
