A GROUP of Crediton and Copplestone Professional Unification of Martial Arts (PUMA) Taekwon-Do students have returned from the PUMA Southern Area Championships with 14 gold, silver and bronze medals.

The students were praised on their success at the competitions held in Swindon, Wiltshire, by their tutor, Dave Powlesland, IV degree black belt.

He said: "This is a really great result because this was a national championships against many senior grade students from across the country.

"The hard work of the Crediton and Copplestone students underpins these achievements and it is all down to that and their ethics and training standards.

"We are fortunate that the students have access to a local sports hall here in Crediton to do this type of group exercise and activity in this area."

Crediton PUMA Taekwon-Do classes are held at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings and at Copplestone on Wednesday evenings.
