LANDSCORE Primary School in Crediton has had a great run of sporting successes recently in Futsal, Boccia, Football and Tag Rugby.
In Boccia, following success at the County Finals, the B team won silver medals and are going through to the Regional Finals.
Boccia, which is similar to bowls, requires competitors to focus and have a steady hand. Both teams have done brilliantly showing determination and perseverance.
In Futsal there have been successes for the school’s Under 12’s and Year 5 Girls Futsal Team. The U12’s team won their group comfortably and tied on points difference with a Year 7 team from West Exe for third place in the tournament.
There was a tense penalty shoot out and Phoebe Stoyle scored the deciding penalty to secure the bronze medal and a place in the county finals.
They will be joined by the Year 5 team who worked well as a team and showed great determination to score 11 goals, concede only three and finished second overall.
In Football the A team took part in the “Kids Cup Football” held at Exeter University. They reached the quarter finals after winning three of their group games and drawing one.
They lost in the semi against the eventual winners but were pleased with their third place out of 28 schools.
Tag Rugby – Three teams took part in the festival hosted by Queen Elizabeth’s in Crediton. Team A won their group, Team B were second and Team C were third.
All teams played brilliantly, working together well and eventually losing in the quarter-finals of the cup and plate competitions.
