DOWNES Crediton Golf Club seniors played for the John Baird Trophy on Monday, April 25 and with the course playing well there was some superb scoring.

Winner of the overall and topping Division Two was Peter Stunell with a stunning score of 45 points with Trevor Stone (44pts) a close second.

David Rowell was victorious in Division One posting 43 points whilst Duane Greenslade was in second place, scoring 41.

Downes Senior Past Captains competed for the Kenmar Trophy on Tuesday, April 26 when David Lee took the victory scoring 34 points.

Jason Arnold produced a fine gross 72 in the Midweek Stableford on Wednesday, April 27 to score 39 points and take the win.

Anne Woodger was in tremendous form on Thursday, April 28 when she scored 39 points to win the Ladies County Stableford Three and Division One from second placed Lyn Parry (36pts).

In Division Two Doreen Warren and Di Botterill both scored 35 points with Doreen coming out on top by virtue of a better back nine.

The Thursday 9 Hole Stableford saw Adam Rigby post 23 points to record a fine win.

A good field of Downes members played the May Monthly Stableford on Saturday, April 30 and with a tremendous score of 47 points Simon Welland took the overall victory as well as topping Division Three. Martin Taverner (39pts) followed in second.

Division One saw “in form” Duane Greenslade post 41 points for victory with Tristan Kershaw (39pts) placed second.

Alistair Todd (41pts) ran out winner in Division Two, two points clear of Mark Griffin (39pts).
