A FITNESS event entitled Showtime held at the Queen Elizabeth’s School’s Barnfield Campus on Saturday March 11, was a huge success.
It was organised by the Exeter branch of the Keep Fit Association, a national organisation that promotes fitness through exercise, movement and dance.
The hall was full for the two morning workouts and there were stalls selling jewellery, children’s wooden puzzles and home-made jams, marmalades and cakes.
The afternoon was given over to performances by teams from different areas of the South West including Somerset, Gloucester, Wiltshire, Plymouth, South Devon, Avon and Exeter, which were all represented.
There was a variety of music and choreography from African rhythms to Parisian night life, and from the toe-tapping get happy to the story of The North Wind and the Sun, taken from Aesop’s fables.
The Exeter team included two ladies from Crediton, Liz Luck and Wendy Eames.
The team’s performance to Evil by Matt Goss earned a huge cheer from the audience. The afternoon ended by bringing everyone back onto the floor for two Latin-American routines.
It was a day of fun, laughter and friendship, leaving everyone with smiles on their faces.
