LAST Saturday afternoon (March 25) Sandford First XI travelled to Clyst St Mary in Exeter to play another high-flying league side Clyst Valley in the Exeter premier football league. 

In a tight game the "Ford" showed that the improvement of the last few games continued but still lacked that bit of luck in front of goal. 

Jack Perry (16) was the star for the away side making his first full senior appearance.  

Chris Hawkins scored "Ford's" only goal in a 2-1 defeat although again they pushed hard for the equaliser. 

The next game for the First team is away against Exeter University on Friday evening (March 31) at 6.30pm.

The Seconds fought hard but were beaten 2-0 by a very strong Central side from Exeter. 

Their next game is on Saturday, April 1 at home to Exeter Raiders with a 3pm kick-off.
