TWO inspiring people are being given the opportunity to serve as flag bearers during the Team Welcoming Ceremony for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
Team Welcome Ceremonies are an important part of the teams’ experience at a Rugby World Cup and will be their first official welcome to England.
All 16 teams will attend a Team Welcome Ceremony in the city or town hosting their first pool game of the tournament.
It promises to be a memorable and unique experience for both the players, team management and guests.
Both France and Italy will be attending the ceremony in Exeter on Saturday, August 16, and the flag bearers will carry the national flags of France and Italy.
It will also feature a special performance, bringing excitement to Exeter as a proud host city.
The ceremony will provide an opportunity to showcase Exeter and England as well as formally welcome teams to the tournament.
It includes the presentation of participation caps and medals to captains and head coaches, in recognition of their involvement in the Rugby World Cup.
This is a unique opportunity to represent your community and stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best.
Nominations are being sought for someone who has made a real difference in their local community – people can also nominate themselves for this unique role.
It should be someone who has made a positive impact in their local community - through volunteering, leadership, support, or simply being a force for good.
Flag bearers can be any age or gender and should be comfortable standing and walking short distances while carrying a flag.
They need to be available to take part in the ceremony on August 16.
