CREDITON Rugby Club stalwart Scott Baker, right, has recently been elected President of the Devon Rugby Referees Society. He is pictured with another Crediton RFC stalwart, Paul Harris, who has just weeks left in his role as Devon RFU President.

Scott was and still is a very talented player who made a seamless move into refereeing where his prowess with the whistle is admired by all.

Scott, a Crediton Primary School teacher, works tirelessly supporting the development of referees, including the Young Match Officials, which is so important for the game.

Scott has been a junior coach for more than 20 years at Crediton RFC.

• Crediton RFC members will be taking part in the Club’s Annual Clean-Up Day from 9am on Saturday, June 7.

Volunteers will help in various ways and the club says it has plenty to tackle so advises members to take along tools and plenty of enthusiasm.
