CREDITON Rugby Club was delighted to respond to a plea for help from the Sirens Netball team who were in need of new kit.
The rugby club has a sole supplier of kit from whom it receives a good deal and the Committee agreed to fund the full cost of the Sirens new outfit.
Sarah Clark, Sirens captain was delighted with the wonderful gesture from Crediton RFC which have proved, once again, that they really are a Community Club.
Sirens were formed three years ago and joined the Crediton and District Netball League. Each year has shown a big improvement in results.
Rugby Club Chairman, Colin MacKenzie, said the Club was pleased to be in a position to help the Sirens.
He said: “As a club we feel it is important that sport of all types should be made available to everyone and if the rugby club is in a position to help then I see no reason why we should not do so.
“This could be history in the making as I don’t know of any other rugby club that has sponsored a netball team.”
