RED Roses Ace Emma Sing will be visiting Crediton Rugby Club as part of a new programme that will connect Red Roses with community clubs.

During Emma’s appearance on Wednesday, May 22, she will be supporting the club’s weekly Tag Rugby Event and hosting a Q and A session in the clubhouse.

Emma started her rugby journey at South Molton RFC where she played from the age of six until U13s. She then joined Crediton RFC, where Girls Rugby was really taking off, and played until U18s.

Emma currently plays at full back for Gloucester-Hartpury, having joined them in 2018/19.

She first played for England U18s in 2018 and earned her first senior cap against Scotland in the 2022 Six Nations, scoring a try against Italy a week later.

Emma featured in the 2023 TikTok Women's Six Nations Championship and was called up to the squad for the inaugural WXV tournament in New Zealand. Emma was also named in John Mitchell's squad for the 2024 Guinness Women's Six Nations.

The women’s game in England is already flourishing from the grassroots level through to the elite; the Red Roses are currently ranked the number one team in the world, while the participation number for women and girls has risen to more than 40,000. With England hosting Rugby World Cup 2025, the aim is to reach 100k registered female players by 2027.

Liz Gimmler, Girls Manager at Crediton RFC, said: “We are so pleased to be welcoming Emma back to Crediton RFC and extremely grateful that she will be joining us.

“Emma is such an inspiration, and we cannot wait for her to visit and meet with members of our club and other local organisations.

“We’re incredibly proud of what Emma has achieved and our Girls Section continues to go from strength-to-strength. It has been great to see the growth of the women and girls’ game in recent years. We’d be delighted to welcome more players to our club.”
