ON Saturday, May 4, Crediton Rugby Football Club Junior section held its end of season celebration and awards evening,
The event was attended by more than 300 players and their families and friends.
Junior Chairman Shane Bayley opened the evening with various thank you’s to the club committee, bar staff, groundsmen amongst the many volunteers who help to run the club.
The awards were given out by club captain Henry Gavin and vice captain Oli Down.
The teams took it in turn to go up on to the stage and the coaches gave a brief review of their season.
Each team awarded cups for Best Tackler (BT), Most Improved Player (MIP) and Player of the Year (POY).
There were also special awards for Mini Player of the year to U12 Sam Barker, Junior Player of the Year to U18 Grace Gillard, Team of the Year Boys U14’s.
Shane Bayley was also awarded the Junior Section Clubman for his hard work during three years as Junior Chairman alongside coaching the current U16’s before stepping down at the end of the season.
After each team’s awards they went on to the main pitch where The Three Little Pigs had donated their time to cook the barbecue.
