BIDEFORD RFC 1ST XV 31-7 CREDITON RFC 2ND XV
BIDEFORD 1st XV away will always be a tough encounter, but after five weeks without a game it was even more of a challenge for the 2nds.
Bideford came at us right from the start, with some strong running testing our defence, which held up well for the opening quarter but by half time our hosts had a 17-0 lead.
The second half started in much the same vein. We were forced to defend but managed a try of our own when No 8 Chris Hooper picked and offloaded to Macca Jones on the inside to score. George Baxter converted.
Unfortunately, that was as good as it got! Several injuries forced reshuffles and Bideford took full advantage to run out winners 31-7.
Without a game again, it was great to see a few current Colts running out and experiencing adult rugby!
Coming up on Saturday, February 28 (ex-players day): 1st XV v Tiverton (H), 2nd XV v South Molton (H), 3rd XV v Withycombe (A), Colts XV v Ivybridge (H).
