NORTH TAWTON 9 - BUDE 7

NORTH Tawton added another important home win to this season’s results, mainly due to the trusty boot of the captain Gary Sizmur who scored all nine points from the penalty spot.

In a tough encounter against an experienced and heaver Bude side, North Tawton could not find the Bude try-line, although they never stopped trying all match.

With a referee who wasn’t afraid to use his whistle to have the game played the way he wanted, and both sides receiving yellow cards, it was not the running type of game that the home supporters have come to expect.

I think is fair to say that most were glad to hear the last time the ref did blow his whistle to finish the match.

Bude took home the losing bonus, thanks to scoring the only try of the match, but it has to be said they also found the try-line hard to find.

The Tawts defence put in another good performance, spending long periods inside their own 10-yard line, having to put in some big tackles to keep the much larger visiting pack at bay.

Man of the Match was Matty Dennis after another good shift in defence.

Next up is a game away to Exeter A and the Seconds are at home to Crediton Thirds.
