ROWAN Karkeek was presented with the Eakers Cup by Sandy Eakers for the best young player at Crediton United and Crediton Youth football clubs.

Rowan had an excellent season last year for the Crediton United ladies team in their first ever season.

She led by example as captain and received the player of the season award for her outstanding performances.

Rowan started playing football at Crediton Youth at the age of 11 years and played for the girls section all the way through youth football.

After a season at Exeter City she decided to return to Crediton to be part of the formation of the new ladies team.

On top of that Rowan regularly referee’s Crediton Youth fixtures and is part of the coaching team that runs the popular weekly Wild Cats and Squad Girls sessions, which the club holds on a Friday evening.

Club Chairman Adrian Harvey said that Rowan was a great example of a player who had progressed from the youth into the adult game at the club.

Sean Hartrey, manager of Crediton United ladies, added that Rowan is “such a great role model for so many players at the club”.
