ILFRACOMBE FIRSTS 5

CREDITON 'QUINS 12

THE 'Quins completed the double over Devon Two side Ilfracombe.

In a fairly dour struggle the 'Quins overcame a strong home side with tries from Ashley Bradnock and Joel Keogh. A Rob Milton conversion completed the scoring.

CREDITON THIRDS 40

SIDMOUTH THIRDS 7

Another Saturday passes with another victory for Crediton Third Fifteen.

Hosting a re-formed Sidmouth Fifteen who have a history of good, competitive sides, saw the game being played at a high-tempo and in the spirit amateur rugby is renowned for.

Kirton started the game the stronger and with the slope. A series of hard-running and breaks eventually lead to the first score with Nathan Jackson crossing the white-wash and Phil Anning converting.

The game itself was very frantic with both teams playing as if they were young and fit. However, it was Crediton who made the most of the possession.

Scott Mills, accompanied by man 'flu, scored two tries as did Ieuan "film me" Evans.

The second half began as the first finished with Kirton dominating possession, however 15 minutes in, fly-half Gareth Kinch gave a reckless "Sam Miller-esc" pass to the opposite team for them to score between the posts.

A further score was added for Kirton and after having kicking lessons from Kinch, Anning had a good day with the boot converting five from six attempts.

The game finished 40-7.

Tomorrow, Kirton Thirds travel to Torrington in a league fixture hoping to keep their winning streak and table--topping form alive.

At this point I would like to thank the continued support of the third team coaches/leaders/idols Martin Phillips and Rooney Matthews.

The players are very grateful for the hard work you put into our team on game days and hopefully you are enjoying it just as much as we are.

CREDITON COLTS 5

TAVISTOCK COLTS 5

Two evenly matched teams battled out a five-all draw.

With neither side scoring in the first half, it was Tavistock who took the lead early in the second period.

Crediton fought back and a well-worked Jamie MacKenzie try brought the sides level.

The difference between a draw and a win was half the width of a post as Haydon Hills' conversion struck the upright.

Fixtures for tomorrow, Saturday, January 31: First Fifteen v Exeter Saracens (home); Second Fifteen v Paignton Seconds (away); Third Fifteen v Torrington Seconds (away); Colts v Paignton (away)
