CREDITON'S QE Chargers basketball team's proud record of 15 wins and one loss has seen them crowned champions of Division Two of Exeter and District Basketball League.
After the disappointment of losing the cup final, Chargers' final victory 71-23 against Devon Peelers sealed their first silverware after re-joining the league following the club's domination in the 1980s and 1990s.
Liam Dunn's 28 points and the inspirational guards, Matt Smith and Stu Chrisp, provided the points in what was a scrappy, physical encounter.
Club coach James Addy and assistant coach and captain Mike Lewis are proud of the application and commitment of their squad who have featured several under 16 players in their ranks as well as veterans.
Addy, himself a veteran of the last era of success for QE, now has to prepare the squad for the play-offs and the chance of further glory.
Addy and Lewis hope to welcome back the experienced Raffy Zappia from injury.
Weymouth Cowboys are their next opponents in what is turning out to be a marathon season for the Crediton side and has seen them turn heads in basketball circles this year.
