ON Saturday, March 5, 15 youngsters from Crediton ran, along with their parents who most definitely are not in a running club, in a privately organised Race for Life event to raise money for Cancer Research.

The event started in Crediton’s Town Square and most wore pink.

The five youngest children ran two kilometres around the town with the older ones tackling a not insignificant four kilometres.

Organiser Sarah Clark explained: “All of the children finished their chosen distance with smiles on their faces and were rewarded with chocolate brownies, flapjack, stickers and medals!

“So far they have raised more than £900 with donations still coming in.

“A big well done to Evangeline Clark, Tilly Theedom, Sophia Theedom, Lucy Theedom, Elliott Fee, Luca Snell, Maya Snell, Isla Moore, Freddie Moore, Annabelle Waller, Grace Jordan, Lucas McDonald, Arthur McDonald, Elsie Stoyle and Stacy Teague.”
