PRIMARY schools from Crediton and the surrounding area took part in the Crediton Learning Community Primary School Swimming Gala, at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, on Wednesday, October 21.

It was a closely fought contest between the 12 schools taking part with Sandford School coming out on top and Hayward’s Primary School the runners up.

The gala was made possible by the help of Crediton and District Swimming Club and students from Queen Elizabeth’s School who volunteered as marshals, runners, whips, etc.

The final positions were: Sandford -138 points, Hayward’s -129, Landscore -111, Yeoford -105, Brampford Speke -100, Cheriton Fitzpaine – 99, Newton St Cyres – 98, Thorverton -92, Bow – 84, Copplestone – 74, Cheriton Bishop -45 and Spreyton -12.
