MORE than 20 people, friends and family of the late Sue Coleman, will take part in “Cycle for Sue” a cycle ride from Ilfracombe to Exmouth on Sunday, August 14.
The cycle ride, about 75 miles in total, is being organised by members of the Unity Masonic Lodge, Crediton.
Mason Peter Coleman explained that the charity event had been organised to raise funds for Hospiscare, which he said had kindly cared for his late wife, Sue, in the later days of her life.
It was decided to also raise funds for the MND Association after Sue was cruelly taken early by Motor Neurone Disease and to also re-name the cycle event in her memory.
He continued: “Friends and relations and Lodge members will be taking part and some people will join those of us cycling the whole route for part of the journey, just from Dart’s Farm at Topsham to Exmouth.”
He said that The Bike Shed, from Crediton and Exeter, would be providing a back-up service to the cyclists and will also host a barbecue back in Crediton in the evening to celebrate the achievement.
He extended special thanks to The Bike Shed for their support.
Sue was the devoted wife to Peter, mother to James and Nigel and grandmother to Ella and Livvy.
She died on July 6 after a two-year battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
