TWO Crediton and Copplestone Professional Unification of Martial Arts (PUMA) Taekwon-Do students have achieved new Black Belt grades.

At a National Grading event held at Swindon, Wiltshire, Alison John was promoted to second degree black belt.

Bryony Russell achieved a first degree black belt.

Alison said she was “delighted” to achieve the grading and said that it had taken six years of training to achieve it.

Bryony said it had taken her four years of training to achieve her black belt.

Both are students of classes run by IV degree black belt instructor Dave Powlesland.

Dave explained that for more than an hour each student was tested on patterns work, sparring, power tests and theory.

Crediton PUMA Taekwon-Do classes are held at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings and at Copplestone on Wednesday evenings.

All ages and abilities are catered for and welcomed at the classes and if you would like to join or find out further details, please contact Dave on 07802 855852.
